This is truly one of a kind. It is a beautifully restored Antique Barber Back Bar c. 1895. It is 14 feet long, 8 feet high, with the marble base extending up 40 inches to provide table tops for the individual station drawers. This was most recently used in an upscale salon in Newport Beach,CA, and is now in storage.
Joey Bishop was a regular who had his hair trimmed, sitting in front of this magnificent piece. Apparently, many a tale, and many jokes were told as he bantered with his stylist. Some of the other Rat Pack members would stop by when in the area. Newport Beach, CA has been home to many celebrities, probably the most famous is the Duke, John Wayne. Bo Derek, Michele Pfeiffer, and a number of athletes have all had homes there.
It is gorgeous and high quality craftsmanship. It was made in Missouri by artisans of that time, using quarter saw oak wood. If you want to make a statement with your decor, this is the way to do it!
What makes this particular barber back bar especially unique is the amount of antique Italian marble.....the entire base of the unit is marble.
